Celtic Home and Dry in SPL?

It looks like Celtic manager Neil Lennon thinks the club are almost home and dry when it comes to this years SPL race. Yesterday they beat Rangers 3-0 to strech their lead to 8 points at the top of the table. Even though most betting sites had them as the favorites to win the title before the game odds have shortened even more.

Rangers do have two games in hand over Celtic and wins in both matches would see them just 2 points behind the league leaders. It’s always best to have points on the board and if Celtic don’t slip up between now and the end of the season then the title is theirs.

Chelsea On The Verge

It looks like Chelsea are on the verge of sacking Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti. After a great start to the season Chelsea are now struggling and if their not careful they could end up slipping out of the Champions League spots by the end of the season. Spurs are hot on their heels.

In recent interviews with the press Ancelotti has expressed unrest based around the team, ownership and living in England. One things for sure. If he doesn’t get the push now then there’s no doubt if things don’t improve he’ll be out at the end of the season!

Gerrard Houllier On The Wire

Just heard a rumour that Gerrard Houlleir has only 3 games left to save his career at Aston Villa. He’s had a pretty horrible start to be frank but replacing Martin Oneill was always going to be a massive massive ask. A poor appointment in the first place if you ask up.

Crouch Out Caroll In

It looks like Newcastle are lining up a trade with Spurs which will see in form striker Andy Carrol move south and like for like replacement Peter Crouch move up to the north. If this one goes through they might just be hell on at St James Park, especially after the sacking of manager Chris Hughton last month.

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce is reported to be after the signature of Aston Villa striker John Carew when the Jan trasfer window opens. Carew is in and out of the Villa team like a yoyo and could be tempted away with the promise of first team football on a regular basis.

Blackburn are struggling for goals at the moment and Carew might just be the answer they are looking for.

Man City Still Keen On Rooney

Even though disgruntled striker Wayne Rooney has just put pen to paper on a 5 year deal at Man United it looks like Man City aren’t giving up the chance.

Manchini wants the out of form England star at City and it looks like they might be lining up a 60 million quid big for Rooney in Jan. If this does happen it’s going to be almost impossible for Man United to turn down given their current poor financial state. Not to mention the fact that Rooney is still out of form and our of favour!

Kirkland On The Move

Injury prone goal keeper Chris Kirkland looks like he could be on his way out at Wigan in search of first team football else where. The ex number 1 keeper said he’d be keen on either a loan or permenant move to secure regular action again.

Early signs look like Leicester City could be interested in a loan deal until the end of this season with a view to purchasing the keeper in the close season.

Shawcross Staying Put

Much sort after defender Ryan Shawcross looks like he might be staying at Stoke even though there’s been plenty of interest from the likes of Luiverpool, Juventus and even Real Madrid!

Stoke are admiant they won’t be selling the young defender who has bags of tallent and what could be a very successful career ahead of him. If his fine form continues it could be difficult for Stoke to hold on to him!
